We're especially delighted this year to celebrate our 17th Birthday at Rouge.
In November we held a shop party welcoming many friends, long term customers and fellow retailers. This was a particularly poignant evening as it was the first big celebration held since completing our renovations.
Having come through extremely challenging times over 2020/21 and working so hard to complete an entire shop refit, this birthday feels like a major milestone.
Looking back over the last year, so much has transformed for the better. We now have two new dedicated workshop spaces on our ground floor, offering a range of classes and workshops from cookery to yoga, craft and beyond. As the shop has grown and evolved so has our curation and collection of stock. Rouge is still a shop with beautiful objects but now its also a cultural and creative space for events, people and most importantly community.
Our new look shop continues to bring so much happiness as we welcome in new teachers and experiences. Each one of the Rouge team has also offered their own specialism, from dumpling and kimchi making to Indigo dye, kundalini yoga and origami.
Taking each year at a time, we're really excited for 2023 and all the new people and experiences it promises.
2024 has been an incredible year for Rouge, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. Together, we navigated a tough year of reduced foot traffic and shoppers on Stoke Newington High Street. But thanks to you—our cherished customers, friends, and families—we’re heading into our 20th year in business stronger than ever! Read our year in review here.
