This unique vintage cabinet comes from Shandong Province in Northern China and dates from the 1900s. Its unusual design, intricate carving and retained original artwork mean that this is a standout piece within any home or office.
It has recently been reconditioned in an artisan workshop in Beijing. The distressed mustard finish is achieved by applying many layers and rubbing back areas between successive layers to reveal the dark undercoat beneath. It has been fitted with a removable inner shelf for the main storage compartment and has two main doors, two side doors and four good-sized drawers. We think this stunning piece is the ideal tidy for a busy craftsperson, a home office, dining room, or kitchen.
