This beautiful porcelain cup was hand made in Jingdezhen, the renowned ceramics capital of China. It is part of a range of tableware by an artisan ceramicist specialised in the creation of glazes with variable colouring. This process requires a kiln heat of around 1250°C.
Inspired by regional landscapes the exterior displays a delicate wave of deep and pale blue, with a hint of pink, like an impression of mountains and the sea. The inside has a pale cream glaze. These special cups have a variable glaze with both mat and gloss, making them tactile and luxurious to hold.
The cup measures 7cm in diameter and is 6.5cm high. (Sizes vary a little as these items are hand made.)
