This porcelain coffee cup and matching plate were hand made in Jingdezhen, the renowned ceramics capital of China. It is part of a range of tableware by an artisan ceramicist who specialises in creating glazes with variable colouring, requiring a heat of around 1250°C.
Inspired by regional rural landscapes in China the design displays a distinct forest green with subtle pink mist, like an impression of the mountain forest. The inside of the cup has a pale cream glaze with a light brown signature swirl at its base, made by the maker's finger tips. These special cup and plate set have a variable glaze with both mat and gloss, making them tactile and luxurious to hold.
This cup and plate set are ideal for small snacks or used as a trivet on delicate surfaces.
The coffee cup measures 9.5cm in diameter and is 5.5cm high. (Sizes vary a little as these items are hand made.)
The trivet measures 12.5cm diameter.
