Kawai-ohashi chopsticks, have been made in Obama city, Japan for over 400 years. The company now fuse tradition with modern design techniques, creating an exquisite range of qeautiful yet practical products.

There are many techniques for making chopsticks, and one of the most traditional is known as “Togidashi”, a method known for its beautiful patterns and quality. Artisans paint with Japanese lacquer again and again to generate exquisite layers. Artisans shave the layers and generate beautiful patterns. This process can take even six months to complete.

Kawai-ohashi now incorporate modern technologies into chopstick designs; including silk screen printing, laser cutting, inkjet printing. This recent new range of patterns feature floral, geometric and cute panda and daruma faces. 

The chopsticks are approximately 23cm long.
